A busy professional with lots of extended family asked for our help in redesigning her one-level apartment into a duplex that could accommodate plenty of entertaining. Looking north over Dover Heights in Sydney’s North Bondi, we worked with a palette of muted tones to create a clean, pared-back home that evokes the calming ocean views without competing with them. We introduced curves to keep the spaces organic and feminine, such as the bespoke solid bronze ribbon flowing down the staircase acting as a balustrade. We worked with compact spaces to ensure they could accommodate our client’s busy lifestyle (and large extended Greek family), a testament to the fact that beautiful, luxurious design does not always require an enormous footprint.
